Day 1 - Thursday - May 27 - Departure
Depart New York this evening for Iceland.

Day 2 - Friday - May 28 - Reykjavik
Welcome to Iceland an island of fire and ice - volcanoes and glaciers. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your deluxe hotel. This afternoon meet with your guide for a tour of the city. Tour Iceland’s capital city visiting the downtown shopping and business districts, government buildings, including the Althing, Iceland’s Parliament, Hofdi House; the studio and sculpture garden of artist Asmundur Sveinsson and Hallgrims Church, with a towering steeple offering sweeping city view. This evening a welcome cocktail party and dinner will be arranged. (B,D)

Day 3 - Saturday - May 29 - Reykjavik
This morning you will depart Reykjavik to visit the quaint fishing village of Akranes (one hour ferry cruise across Faxa Bay from Reykjavik). On a clear day you can see almost forever, with a distant view of Snaefells Glacier famous as the setting for Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. Enjoy a picturesque cruise along the Hvalfjordur (fjord), visit Saurbaer church and the old whaling station and then drive through the foothills of Mt. Esja, crossing one of Iceland’s best salmon rivers, the Laxa I Kjos. Return to the hotel. This evening after dinner dance the night away at one of the many dance clubs. (B,L)

Day 4 - Sunday - May 30 - Blue Lagoon & Horseback Tour
For those interested this mornings outing will be a horseback tour. Ride across the lava fields astride fabled Viking horses, and then enjoy a classic Iceland meal of herring, bread, dried fish, skyr and faltcakes washed down with Icelandic Brennivin - known as Black Death. This afternoon enjoy the mineral rich Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a natural and man-made wonder. A bright blue mineral-rich pool of geothermal-heated water in the middle of a lava field. Enjoy the warm waters. This evening a farewell dinner has been arranged at the Hard Rock Cafe. (B,D)

Day 5 - Monday - May 31 - Reykjavik - New York
The morning is at your leisure, perhaps you would like to return to the Blue Lagoon for a last soak in the fantastic waters, or just relax at the hotel. Farewell to Iceland as you depart for New York this afternoon. Arrive home your hearts and minds filled with happy memories as well as new friends.(B)
